From 2013, at high costs, wastewater was discharged into the sewer at Liprovit in Kampen. Besides, every day a full tank car with process water left their new factory. And yet, reducing those costs during the start-up in Kampen was not the highest priority. During that period, all attention was devoted to the production of liquid animal feed, which makes the location in Kampen so special.
However, when the increase in production caused water costs raising too high, Liprovit decided to invest in wastewater technology.
Jaap Fuite:“ We were surprised about Septo's approach. Instead of sending a lot of technical information about biological purification and membrane filtration, they showed us a 3-D representation of the intended solution for us. This had the advantage that we could immediately determine what the installation would look like for us. As a result, it enabled us to ask specific questions and to influence design aspects that are so important for us. For example: “apply stainless steel pipes instead of plastic. How easily accessible are the membranes and pumps for maintenance and how is the floor finished? "The communication around these subjects gave us the confidence that Septo could design and build the installation according to our wishes and standards. Our investment decision was made based on this confidence in combination with the financial figures”
This MBR installation will run for six years in 2024. Every year the MBR investment adds a considerable amount to our company’s net profit. It appears to be the best investment we have made in Kampen.
